AI Assistant
The AI Assistant (/ai-assistant) is a chat interface inside Nexa where you ask questions in natural language and get answers in a threaded conversation. Use it when you want a conversational way to explore your data and workspace instead of clicking through screens. It keeps a history of past chats so you can return to earlier conversations.
Layout
Section titled “Layout”The screen has three parts:
| Area | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Chat sidebar (left) | New chat, search, and your history of past conversations |
| Header (top) | Your account menu — profile, notifications, and log out |
| Conversation (center) | The message thread and the composer where you type |
Start and manage chats
Section titled “Start and manage chats”Each conversation is a separate thread, so you can keep unrelated questions apart and come back to any of them later.
- Select New Chat in the sidebar to start a fresh thread.
- Use Search Chat to find an earlier conversation by its title.
- Select any conversation in the history list to reopen it.
- Use the per-conversation menu (the three-dots control on a chat) to Share, Rename, or Delete that thread.
Ask a question
Section titled “Ask a question”- Type your question into the composer at the bottom (the input prompts How can I help you today?).
- Select the send control to submit it.
- Read the response in the thread; continue the conversation with follow-up messages, which stay in the same thread for context.
The composer also has an add control (the + button) for starting additional input alongside your message.
- Keep one topic per thread. Because history is organized by conversation, a focused thread is easier to find and reuse later.
- Rename a thread as soon as it has a clear subject so it is easy to locate from Search Chat.
- Delete threads you no longer need to keep the history list manageable.

Section titled “Related”- Agents — build and deploy AI agents for end users.
